Glynn County Georgia is our target community, however, the city of Brunswick Georgia will be our area of concentration, because it has the largest population of low-income families. Dilapidated housing is a major issue for the City.

- 65% of the City's population earning less than the median income, the availability of affordable homes is low, particularly for the extremely-low income populations.
- 23% of Brunswick's families live below the poverty level.
- Extremely low-income home owners represent 19.3(68 of 352) and were cost-burdened.
- 18.7 percent of the elderly homeowners were considered cost-burdened.
- 33.5% of the homeowners reported being severely cost-burdened.
- 31.5% were elderly. Low income represent 23.7%(112 of 476) of cost-burdened families.
- 27.4% of the low-income elderly are cost burdened.
- 15% of Brunswick's population is aged 65 and older, about 2,380 citizens. 66% of residents age 65 and older are female.
- Of the total number of citizens age 65 and older, 1,147 are disabled.
- 21.9%, or 252, live with relatives or assisted-living communities, while 25%, or 287, live alone.
- 14.2 of the elderly population within the City currently lives below the poverty level.
- 13% do not have vehicles and are dependent upon alternative forms of transportation to meet their daily living needs. Brunswick does not have public Transportation.
